These roll forward tipping skips are our heavy duty TITAN range and built like a tank. The skip of the tipping skip is fully seam welded and watertight and, as standard, the skip walls are 3mm thick mild steel, but with an option for the skip to be made from 5mm steel plate, please call if 5mm is required - that is a serious bit of steelwork!.

The base of the tipping skip is 4 way entry, so a forklift can pick the skip up in any orientation. The base subframe is made from heavy box section so a perimeter frame sits on the ground and a second frame supports the tipping bin. This leaves a gap all the way around for the forklift and the base perimeter prevents the tipping skip from rolling off the forks. There is a safety chain supplied so the tipping skip can be secured to the fork carriage to prevent the tipping skip for coming off forwards under heavy braking.

tipping skip safety catch

To release the bin and tip the skip forward, simply pull back the locking lever at the rear of the skip (the right hand tube in this picture) and the bin will rotate forward and tip.

To prevent the accidental operation of tipping, there is a safety sliding lock which has to be lifted to pull the lever (Figure of 8 shape in picture). In addition, to prevent un-autorised use, a long hasp padlock can be inserted in the hole in the top of the left hand tube.

At the top of the lever is a welded loop to which you can attach a chain, rope or strap so the lever can be be pulled to empty the tipping skip when raised up by forklift. This means a forklift driver does not need to leave his seat to tip the bin contenets out into the main skip and let's face it, what forklift drivers do!!!

Please note, the cord or chain etc is not supplied.

The tipping skip as standard is finished with 2 coats of anti-corrosive primer & topcoat paint for a long and hard life. As an option, we can fully galvanise the tipping skip - please see accessories tab for details. We offer the tipping skips in a choice of 4 colours - royal blue, red, orange or green.
All the Titan Skips are fully CE marked and fitted with operating instructions, a specification plate and caution labels

These tipping skips in stock have a current lead time of 3-5 working days

Galvanized finish Tipping Skips

Tipping skip heavy duty in galvanized finish
Galvanized Finish Tipping Skip Option

Our TITAN heavy duty tipping skips are supplied in a painted finish as standard. We can offer them in a galvanized finish as an optional extra. Galvanizing tipping skips entails dipping the skips into a hot molten bath of zinc at 449°C which coats every surface with up to 1mm thick zinc. Zinc itself will not rust, so the life of the tipping skip is potentially 20 to 30 years in outside conditions. Of course, hit it with a forklift and compromise the zinc coating and you expose the steel underneath! If you are unfamiliar with zinc coatings for tipping skips, a hot dip galvanized tipping skip has the same finish as a farm gate, that mottled dark grey/silver colour.

Whilst the galvanizing of a tipping skip is relatively expensive, it is substantially cheaper than a tipping skip made from stainless steel and is often used in the food and pharma industry as it doesn't rust and there is no risk of paint flakes and contamination.

Lids for Tipping Skips

Tipping Skip with Folding Sheet Steel Lid

If a tipping skip spends alot of time outside then a lid may be needed, whether to keep rain water out or to keep contents in the skip in windy conditions. A lid for a tipping skip is quite complicated for what it is and needs to hinge and fold to allow contents to tip out to empty. The lid needs to be ordered when you purchase the tipping skip, it can't be reto-fitted to your skip.

Side Mesh Extensions to Tipping Skip

Tipping skips are often used for waste applications and that often entails cardboard and lighter packaging items. For these uses, a taller tipping skip side is useful as weight is not an issue. We can supply the tipping skip with mesh top side extensions increasing the volume capacity of the skip. The tipping skips sides are raised up by 400mm in height.

Wheels & Castors for Tipping Skips

Tipping skips are invariably moved around and emptied by forklift, but the addition of wheels and castors make them far more user friendly and easy to use when being loaded. The tipping skips have castor plates fitted underneath and we can fit 150mm dia heavy duty nylon wheels in a 2 fixed and 2 swivel castor configuration. The load capacity of the tipping skip is not compromised, although you will have to consider the manual handling aspect of your work place if the tipping skip is full to capacity.
