Drop Bottom Skip - VBB 750

VBB 750 is a very robust Drop Bottom Skip. A fully welded structure results in a heavy duty capacity of 1000kg. Simply fill the skip from above as normal, once full, pick the drop bottom skip up using the forklift holes at the top of the stillage. Alternatively, the skip can be picked up with chains using the lifting eyes on each corner. Then place the skip where you want the contents to be dropped and pull the lever - The base will hinge open downwards and the contents fall out. To then close the base, simply lower the skip to the ground and the base will close an lock into place automatically.

The drop bottom skip is finished in a powder coated finish - Blue RAL 5010.

An option of wheels is available to allow easy movement of the skip around the workplace

Securing of the Drop Bottom Skip to Your Forklift Truck

    

The Drop Bottom Skip has a safety chain fitted to the back of the skip which must be wrapped around the mast or fork of your forklift. This safety chain ensures that the skip cannot slide of the forklift when being moving around.  

Drop Bottom Skip Operating Lever

    

When the drop bottom skip is in position ready to empty, Simply pull the side lever to release the base catch.
The lever has safety ring fitted to prevent accidental opening of the base. To use the lever, simply slide the ring up and off the lever. Ensure it is refitted after use.
At the top of the lever there is a hole which allows you fit a cord or length of rope so the forklift driver can open the skip when raised up in the air.

Drop Bottom Skip Base Opening

    

When the release lever has been pulled, the base will swing down and open. The heavy spring fitted on the side of the skip controls the speed of the base opening and ensures a controlled opening.
The smaller spring on the side  controls the catch lever offering good feel when you pull the lever and also allows the base to automatically lock when lowered to the ground.
